A passion for House Music

My passion for house music extends to various genres that I play.

Afro House

Afro House is the musical baby of kwaito, tribal, deep and soulful house music that is heavily derived from South Africa.

House

House music is the oldest genre within electronic dance music and still one of its main pillars today. House music was named after “The Warehouse” nightclub in Chicago’s South Side. It is a direct descendant from disco music, rising to prominence in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s when the disco era ended.

Tech House

The term tech house developed as a shorthand record store name for a category of electronic dance music that combined musical aspects of techno, such as “rugged basslines” and “steely beats”, with the harmonies and grooves of progressive house.

EDM / Dance

Electronic dance music is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres originally made for nightclubs, raves, and festivals.

Disco / NuDisco

Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States’ urban nightlife scene.

Funk

Funk is a music genre that originated in African-American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres.

“The minute you think you’re greater than the music . . .

you’re finished.”
